Where I’ve been
New Hampshire roots
I grew up in southern New Hampshire and went to college right down the road from my parents’ home, at the University of New Hampshire. While there, I earned three degrees: bachelor’s degrees in economics and business analytics, and a master’s in data science.
I was also a multiple first-team All-American and a five-time conference champion, and I hold several school and state records in the hammer throw. I was even named a WMUR Hometown Hero for my athletic accomplishments and volunteer work.

After graduating, I moved to North Carolina to start building my life and see how far I could go as an athlete. My first job was as a data scientist at MANN+HUMMEL, where I grew professionally, and with the help of Jeffrey Klaves at Campbell University I was able to keep training.
Work ran from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Then I’d drive 45 minutes south from Raleigh to Buies Creek and train until 9 p.m. That effort took me from 13th in the U.S. rankings to 5th at the 2019 national championships, which earned me an invitation to the Olympic Training Center in California to train with the U.S. team ahead of the Tokyo Olympics.
As a data scientist, I was also the engineer behind a patent for assessing airborne COVID risk, granted in 2022, which became one of our group’s main products.

I spent two years living and training with the U.S. team while still working remotely for MANN+HUMMEL, where I moved up to product owner and, eventually, manager of U.S. software.
My run at the Olympic team ended one spot short of selection, but I’ll never forget the time I spent with Olympians, world record holders, and some of the best athletes in U.S. history during the prime of my athletic career.
This is also when I fell in love with motorcycles. Riding through the Southern California mountains and up the Pacific Coast Highway are some of my favorite memories of California.

When my athletic career came to an end, right after my highest finish in the U.S. rankings, I settled in Florida to grow my family. I married my wife, we had our two boys, and I started Shancorps by working with businesses around Tampa Bay.
Our first project, in 2022, was a custom hiring tool that uses AI to match candidates to job listings. From there, my wife, our business partners, and I built Shancorps into what it is today: serving dozens of Tampa Bay businesses, helping entrepreneurs, and helping new people break into tech and understand the power AI puts in all of our hands.
If you’d like to know more about those projects or the business, take a look at shancorps.com.
